RECIPE: Protein Smoothies

Smoothies are my favourite. They feel totally naughty but with the right ingredients they can be both filling and nutritious.

Pink berry smoothie in a glass with a black straw, beside a banana and raspberries on a windowsill.

When it comes to smoothies, the options are basically endless.

Start with your choice of milk; cow’s milk, almond milk, soy milk, coconut milk etc.

Then add in some yoghurt (optional), I always add bananas to my smoothies (usually frozen), I love the flavour and it makes the smoothie thicker.

Add in some frozen berries if you like; blueberries, raspberries, strawberries etc. I find that berries sweeten the smoothie enough on their own but add a teeny bit of honey if need be. I also like to flavour my smoothies with cinnamon and sometimes I'll add a few raw nuts like Brazil nuts to my smoothie for the healthy fats and minerals.

Lastly, I add a scoop or two of protein powder in my smoothies, especially if its a

Post-workout smoothie.

Because I like making my food look pretty, I'll usually add some garnishes like cacao nibs or buckinis or a sprinkle of cinnamon.

Feel free to share with us the delicious combo you come up with for your smoothie and tag us if you share it on social media!
